Category used by {{Location}} template family for reporting files with incorrectly filled parameters:

1. Possible sources of error for {{Location}} and {{Object location}} templates:

  • Too many or too few parameters passed to the template – 8 or 9 are expected.
  • Parameters 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7 have to be numeric. Letter O instead of number 0 or l instead of 1 will cause problems. Also occasionally non printable invisible characters cause errors.
  • Parameters 4 and 8 have to be letters. Allowed values for parameter 4 are N and S. Allowed values for parameter 8 are W and E.

2. Possible sources of error for {{Location dec}} and {{Object location dec}} templates:

  • Too many or too few parameters passed to the template – 2 or 3 are expected.
  • One common error is use of N, S, W, E, instead of +, -. For example {{Location dec|50|N|50|W}} instead of {{Location dec|50|-50}}. To correct replace "latitude|S" with "-latitude" and "longitude|W" with "-longitude".
  • Parameters 1 and 2 have to be numeric. Letter O instead of number 0 or l instead of 1 will cause problems. Also occasionally non printable invisible characters cause errors.

3. Use of named arguments like: NW, EW, type, region, article, or display commonly used with similar templates at German or English Wikipedia

4. Several retired templates redirect here as well: {{Coord}}, {{Coordinate}}, {{Location d}}, {{Coor title dm}} and {{Location dm}}

5. {{Globe location}} used for earth locations.
